Valentine Design

Another great Valentine’s Day has come and gone. I wanted to surprise Katie with a nice homemade card this year so I got busy on the computer this week and here’s what I came up with.

It was fun to mix the playful hand-drawn hearts with a more serious typeface and a block element exclamation mark in the bottom corner to create a little tension between the hearts and the exclamation. I also really liked how crisp the black printed on our Canon MP610.

Does it work for you? What do you like or dislike?

Wow Love! I like it when you explain a little bit about the card you made for me. Sheesh I feel like such a blond ditz sometimes. I loved it. Loved the special note you wrote on the back too… xoxo

  • Nathan Says:

Very cool design. I’d just straighten out the last stroke on the red heart. I’m curious what a different exclamation point would look like.

I too enjoyed your explanation of your great card.

Thanks for the input bro. it is distracting with that last weird squiggle. What would you try for the exclamation point? Something a little more rounded perhaps?

  • Daria Says:

SWEET!! I love the hand drawn hearts. Katie’s a lucky girl to have such a romantic for a husband :)

  • Nathan Says:

Perhaps. I’m not sure. One of those try it and see things. I do like square exclamation marks but I just wonder what it would look like.
