So What Do YOU Think?

You’ve seen my website & logo, now I want to share with you my first attempt at a business card. I’m hoping to work under the business name of One Man Strong Design. I want to have a fairly casual image that represents the few things that my business will be.

One Man Strong Business Card

Firstly I want to say that I’m only one man, that’s right, I work solo for now. This should be a good thing for my clients though, because they’re getting one on one attention.

Next I want to present that even though I’m just one man, I am one man STRONG. I want to put some serious emphasis on the strong part. With the emphasis on being strong I hope that it will help people to be okay with any of the potential downsides of working with a one man show.

Lastly is the fact that I’m not only a strong man, but that I do strong design. In the end anyone that looks at my card, logo, or website will walk away thinking, man, this guy has STRONG DESIGN.

So, what do YOU think? How does my logo, website and potential card do at conveying the message? What do you like about them? What don’t you like? Any suggestions or ideas that I could use to make the whole thing stronger?

Due to popular request I have added the beginnings of the back of my card. The idea would be to list 5 clever reasons why someone should use me for their design needs. While we’re on the subject, what ideas do you have for my 5 clever reasons?

We have already chatted on the strength of your business logo design. I’m curious if you are going to have a default picture to fill in that space above there. Perhaps of you? I’m guessing you mean to put up your business card there.

    Nate-

I didn’t mean to have published it yet, I wasn’t quite done with the post.
Oops. It’s all ready to go now.

  • Mom Says:

Okay, I figured out where it was-oops

I LOVE THE ONE MAN STRONG CONCEPT. The Logo very effectively accomplishes each of the goals you have articulated.
The short sleeves convey the youth and casualness that I think you are wanting while the bold font is definitely communicating Strength! Well Done!

I’m looking forward to being able to read each step of your journey .
And I’ll need some business cards, please (for when I hear about web design needs from time to time- plus one for my own enjoyment)
Nice talking with you last night.
    Love

Where’s your email adderess? Hee. Hee. And I love the name!!!

  • Katie Kates Says:

That’s the best part Dad! Conor, you should really post the backside of your card so everyone can see how smart it is!

  • Nathan Says:

Oooh a backside. I’d love to see your backside Conor. Do show. Better yet I want some sweet AJAX code to flip that baby.

  • Mom Says:

So show us the back then!

  • Conor Muirhead Says:

I didn’t post the back simply because it wasn’t yet finished. Since you all asked so nicely though, here are the beginnings with an explanation added to my post of what I would hop to fill in the gap with. Take a look and give me some feedback an ideas on what you might put in the white space.

You guys are such a great audience! I love it!

  • Nikki Lamagna Says:

    Hey Conor!

We met last night when you helped me with my MacBook Pro purchase. You were very sweet and helpful - thanks so much!

As for your design, I love the name. Your color scheme is very simple but so striking and memorable. Your type face also fits in nicely with your theme - use of serif fonts and thick letters implies strength; carrying this over to your website is an important step also…you know what they say about making a brand: make it repetitive and consistent.

Anyway, I said I’d stop by and drop you a note. Keep up that good work and if you ever have any questions, need a critique or just want to talk shop, drop me a line!

    Take care Conor.
